Farmer’s Wife Block of the Month

One fun block of the month that is starting up here soon is the Farmer’s Wife quilt, done in modern colors.

Here is the info about it:

First class: January 24, 2013 4:00 pm – 6:00 pm

The Farmer’s Wife is a highly popular quilt book. You may have noticed a lot about it online. We are making the quilt using fun, fresh new fabrics. Most of the patterns have been adapted so you can foundation Paper Piece them. Each month you will get the kits and the adapted pattern for 10 blocks. You will need to purchase the book. All 111 block patterns are put together into a queen size quilt. This is a super fun quilt and you will love the fabrics we are using for it!

The finished quilt is 83 x 103. The cost of the class will be about $25 a month.

Does the class go for 12 months?

  2. Lisa Holland says:

Can we participate through the mail? Or is it for people who are able to come to the shop only?

Maybe I’m not looking at it right, but I can’t get block # 7 Birds in the Air to work out correctly. It seems like two of the pieces are backwards of what they should be. Has anyone else had problems or is it just me? Please advise.

You can always take your block in to the store and the employees will help walk you through it! I am not in this block of the month or I would try and help you out!

What does the $25 cover ? I have the book, and want to use different fabrics.

If you sign up for the block of the month you will get the fabric shown in the examples. If you are wanting to use different fabrics you could talk to the teacher about possibly still attending class and paying a lower monthly fee (since you won’t need the fabric kits). I would recommend calling the store if that interests you!
