I’m not sure there is a pattern for the zig zag quilt-most of these quilts were just made up but I’m pretty sure she sewed (8) 1 1/2 in. strips together and then cut them using a 60 degree ruler.
I made the quilt in 2009 . It was called Optical Illusion because of the placement of the black and white fabrics which I made it in. It is from Strip Pieced Quilts. I cannot find the book to give you any other info.

since I had jelly rolls, I cut the strips 1.25 in. ( less waste). I used 60 degree ruler. Seems to work fine.
